Sheep shearer Bill Kerr told me how he thinks communities find out about a person with a good work ethic.

"That first day everything went wrong. Clippers fell apart. Clippers fell over and he was shearing his two to my one. I got excited and so while I was eating during dinner I said, 'Bill you need to go down there and get on the ball.' So I did and I shoar' for him for years . Then he told somebody else and that party told somebody else and then the ball starts turning. It's way around the world. 'Self-advertising.' No advertisement what so ever. You used to have little signs, but no advertising. Word of mouth is worth a million dollars. It is. It's better than any advertisement."

• Finally, write a second paragraph about your own work ethic and compare and contrast with the farmer's work ethic.
