What a farm produces and how the farm produces it makes every family farm unique. Some farms grow grains such as corn and others grow vegetables. Some use commercial pesticides and others practice organic farming. Every day farmers must make choices about how they will manage their land: how much land they will use for crops, what crops they will grow, how they will deal with weeds or insect problems, how they will try to improve their yields from last season. They may change soil conservation methods, experiment with a new hybrid, or invest in different technology.
