    AQUA-L

    A list for discussion of aquaculture of all types, based at the University of PEI. The purpose of the list is to promote discussion amongst individuals interested in the science, technology and business of rearing aquatic species.     CMPAN

    California Marine Protected Areas Network - pronounced simpan, is a discussion group to facilitate information exchange about Marine Protected Areas (e.g. National Parks, National Marine Sanctuaries, Marine Refuges, Marine Reserves, Ecological Preserves, etc.). Through CMPAN, subscribers are able to receive, share, and discuss Marine Protected Area-related information as it becomes available. CMPAN is available for information sharing among all individuals interested in Marine Protected Areas including researchers, non- governmental agencies, resource managers, industry representatives and extension personnel.

    ECOLOG-L

    The list maintained for members of the Ecological Society of America (and other interested subscribers) by David Inouye at the University of Maryland. This list is for distribution and archiving of information of interest to ESA members, such as job listings, funding opportunities, and discussion of topics of interest to professional ecologists. It can be used to distribute requests for information, and as a forum for discussion of topics of interest to ESA members. The list is moderated (i.e., messages sent to the list address must be approved by a moderator before they are sent on to subscribers).     ELAN

    Environment in Latin America Network is a listserver which was established in July, 1994 by the Environment and Natural Resources Working Group of the Latin American Studies Association. Its editors are David Barkin and Timmons Roberts. David Barkin is Professor of Economics at the Universidad Autonoma Metropolitana Xochimilco, Mexico, and Senior Fellow at the Lincoln Insititute of Land Policy. Timmons Roberts is an Assistant Professor of Sociology and Latin American Studies at Tulane University. The co-chairs of the LASA working group are Janet Chernela of Florida International University and David Barkin.

    FISH-ECOLOGY

    This is an international computer conference for academic and other personnel involved in empirical and theoretical research and assessment issues related to the ecology of fish and fisheries: All bio-geo-scientific topics, analytical tools and procedures related to fisheries ecology and fish are covered by this network, particularly: behavioral- evolutionary- paleo- theoretical- and community ecology, stock dynamics, assessment and management by applied mathematics, statistics and modelling, mathematical bioeconomics, applied oceanography and GIS, genetics, limnology, chemical ecology, etc. Also, related scientific public domain software is covered in this network. Membership is open to all interested parties. If you would like to discuss the political, social and anthropological aspects of fisheries, fish-ecology is not the right forum.
