Search Help

The search engine for The Papers of Philander Chase is provided by Atomz.  Technical information about the search engine can be found at www.atomz.com.

Enter keywords into the text box and click on "Search."  The engine will search the full text of all documents currently online and display the results, arranged in order of relevance.  Click on each result to view the full text of the document.  Use your browser's "Back" button to return to the list of results.

This search engine, unfortunately, does not allow for Boolean operators (and, or, not, near, etc.).  Further, because the documents have been literally transcribed (retaining variant spellings, abbreviations, etc.), searching for a particular term may not yield all the results.  If you find that searching is not producing the results you would like, try browsing by document type or by time period.

This website is best viewed in CSS- and DHTML-capable browsers (IE4 and Netscape 4, or later), with Javascript enabled. This site should function in older browsers, however some of the additional features may not work, and much of the layout will appear incorrect.
