Testimony
1. John 1:19: This is the testimony given by John. . . He confessed, 'I am not the Messiah.'"
John 1:26: John answered them, 'among you stands one whom you do not know, the one who is coming after me.'"
John 1:31: 'I myself did not know him. . . and John testified, "I saw the Spirit descending on him like a dove. . . and I myself have seen and have testified that this is the Son of God.
John 3:31-36: "The one who comes from heaven is above all. He testifies to what he has seen and heard, yet no one accepts his testimony. Whoever has accepted his testimony has certified this, that God is true. He whom God has sent speaks words of God.
2. John 5:31-35: "If I testify about myself, my testimony is not true. There is another who testifies on my behalf, and I know that his testimony to me is true. You sent messengers to John, and he testified to the truth. Not that I accept such human testimony, but I say these things so that you may be saved.
John 5: 36-46: "But I have a testimony greater than John's. The works that my Father has given me to complete, the very works I am doing, testify on my behalf that the Father sent me. And the Father who sent me has himself testified on my behalf. You have never heard his voice or seen his form, and you do not have his word abiding in you, because you do not believe him whom he has sent.
You search the scriptures because you think that in them you have eternal life, and it is they that testify on my behalf. Yet you refuse to come to me to have life. . . If you believed Moses, you would believe me, for he wrote about me. But if you do not believe what he wrote, how will you believe what I say?"
3. John 8:14-19: "Even if I testify on my own behalf, my testimony is valid because I know where I have come from and where I am going, but you do not know where I come from or where I am going. . . I testify on my own behalf, and the Father who sent me testifies on my behalf."
"Where is your Father?" Jesus answered them, you know neither me nor my Father. If you knew me, you would know my Father also."
4. John 15:26-27: "When the Advocate comes, whom I will send to you from the Father, the Spirit of Truth who comes from the Father, he will testify on my behalf. You also are to testify because you have been with me from the beginning."
