Assignment 6: Mark's Passion Narrative

1.  Choose a scene or memorable saying from Mark, chapters 14, 15, or 16, that strikes you as especially mysterious or powerful. Why?

2.  Keeping in mind that Mark structured the traditions about Jesus to build a dense symbolic and thematic narrative, how does the scene you chose advance the overall narrative?  What symbolic and/or thematic elements are present?

3.  Write up the results of your work in a 1-2 page typed paper.
