I. Read the following selections from the New Testament: Paul's Letters: Romans, chapters 12-13; I Corinthians chapters 5,6, 7, 13; Ephesians 4 and 6; James' Letter: James, chapters 1, 2, 5. With your partner, discuss the following issues:

1. What kind of ethical behavior is expected of Christians? Make a list of the most important moral actions described in the readings. Compare your list with Buddhism's Eightfold Path. What commonalities and differences do you find?

2. Did you see any of these ethical guidelines discussed or referenced in the film? What were they?

Write a 1 page typed paper describing the results of your discussion.

II. On your own, read the excerpts from Augustine's The City of God. Be prepared to discuss why Augustine believes there is so much misery in the world.
