1. Read the E-res assignment, "The Parade of Ants."

2. Consider the following issues:

• What are the relationships between the deities Indra, Brahma, Shiva, and Vishnu? And the brahmin boy and the hermit?
• What is revealed in the myth about time?
• What are the implications for how gods and humans should act?
• How does this myth fit with the theories of myth we have discussed so far in Cunningham and Eliade?

3. Write a 1-2 page incorporating these issues. The first paragraph should contain a summary of the ideas in Cunningham and Eliade that have relevance for this myth. Your paper should also bring up any ideas from Cunningham and Eliade that don't seem to fit this myth.
