Student activities:
Interview eachother about happiness. Ask what makes him happy and what he wants
in life to be happy in the future (money, family, experiences, etc.).
Paraphrase what the mother in the dialogue in chapter 12 of your book does on a daily basis. Would you like to work at home in the future or would you like your spouse to? Do you think that someone should stay at home? Explain your reasoning.
Write a composition about your travelling experiences or the places you would like to visit. How does travelling affect a person, in your opinion?
Teacher's guide:
Identify new grammatical constructions in the video clip and practice them with
the students. Clarify any grammar or vocabulary from the video clip that the
students do not understand.
Lead a discussion about women's roles in America and China. Begin by telling the students about women's household roles in China during the past 50 years.Have the students compare this information with their own knowledge of changing women's roles in the United States.
