Problem Session

Chapter 13 - Nonlinear Relationships

• Do you have any questions about what we did last time with quadratic regression?
• Fitting a quadratic regression model
  • Example - Return to Kobe Bryant's career stats from a quiz question (see KobeBryant-QuadraticModel.R)
  • Exercise 26 on p. 487 (see Civic.R)

Class time for projects on statistical models/relationships/predition

• Use linear regression models and multiple regression models to identify the best model for predicting an appropriate response variable for a sports question of interest to you and your partner(s). Your presentation must compare and constrast at least two models and provide appropriate confidence and prediction intervals.

We will continue with Chapter 13 in class on Wednesday, unless some groups want to present their projects.
