Chapter 7 - Measures of Variability

• Using Minitab to compare the standard deviations or variances
• Example - Exercise 33 on p. 258 - Back to Coors Field

  • Create a boxplot to compare the two distributions
  • How do we decide which distribution is more consistent?

  • Cautionary Remark - This test is very sensitive to outliers.

Reading Assignment - Please read Chapter 8 for Class on Friday.

Friday will be a LAB day where you will work on in class exercises. We will have a problem session where you will present your solutions to these problems on Monday.
