The Cassells

Photo: The Cassell Family The Cassell Farm was established by George Cassell, who moved to Knox County from Maryland in 1835. The farm, which has been in the same family now for six generations, is owned by Art and Joan Cassell. The Cassells own twenty-eight acres of woodland, which once served as the first tree farm in Knox County and supplied wood for the Cassell house and barns. The Maryland "bank barn" on this Ohio century farm, with its original stone foundation, is a well known landmark to people from all over Knox County. In addition to the woodlot, the Cassells own a herd of forty-five registered Angus cows.
