before going down, stop to admire the view from the top! Before venturing back down the ladder, I recommend taking a moment to peek out the windows. The openings are narrow, but the view is still worth a look. (This particular photo is badly out of focus and does not do the effect justice.)

I also recommend taking a brief look up into the very top of the bell tower. A quick glance reveals that this highest level is not as high as the tower goes!

just don't look straight down...Climbing back down the ladder is probably my least favorite part. Fortunately, though you can scarely tell in this photograph, there are convenient handholds at the top and the ladder is quite sturdy. Still, I wouldn't recommend looking straight down.

After that, the second set of stairs won't be any problem at all!

As you may remember from a previous page, the final stairs back down are a bit steep. After navigating our other stairs and that final ladder, though, I suspect that you will find them quite nice. :)

That's it! You made it to the top and back in one piece! (If you ever visit us on a Friday and happen to stay until we finish at five o'clock, we will glady take you on the same trip in person.) Now all that's left is to head on out.
