Assignment 2: Biblical Narrative

1. Read through the section in Holtz on Biblical Narrative. Write down three questions about the garden story that you would like the narrator to answer.

2. Read the Midrash sampler, to get an idea of the different ways in which Midrash addresses gaps in the Biblical narrative.

3. What might be a midrashic way of answering your questions? Formulate 3 possible answers and come to class prepared to discuss them.
