LaTeX

LaTeX is a powerful mathematical typesetting program. It is possible to typeset pretty much any mathematical document that is needed. There are also simple ways of including diagrams and graphs in LaTeX documents. LaTeX is public domain software that is available in various forms; check the web for details and downloads. There are also some inexpensive "overlays" that make it easy to use. For instance, WinEdt.
