Case Study on the Effect of Lead on Nerve Conduction Velocity
The nerve conduction velocity was measured for 14 individuals --- 7 of those individuals had been exposed
to lead and the other 7 formed a control group that was not exposed to lead. The data are found in the Minitab
worksheet Lead_Exposure.mtw.
(a) Is there evidence in the data that those exposed to lead have slower nerve conduction velocities, on average?
Use
significance level alpha=0.01.
(b) Find a 99% confidence interval for the difference in means (mu_control-mu_lead).
